John Boyne
John Boyne is an Irish novelist born on April 30, 1971, in Dublin, Ireland. He grew up in his hometown and enjoyed reading and writing from an early age. At Trinity College, he became familiar with and received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature.
Boyne began his career writing short stories. He then started writing novels for children and adults, some of which, including “The Boy in striped pyjamas” became very popular and brought him worldwide acclaim. Boyne’s writing style varies from book to book, which means he is a flexible author, able to create in different styles. He has explored historical fiction, contemporary drama, young adult literature, and even dark humor. Amazing ability, right?
Some of his books include; The Heart's Invisible Furies, A Ladder to the Sky, My Brother's Name is Jessica, and others. His work has received several Literary awards. For instance, his novel "The Heart's Invisible Furies'' was a New York Times bestseller and won the Irish Book Award's Novel of the Year in 2017.
