Margaret Arndt
Margaret Heaton wrote her German fairy tales under the pen name Margaret Arndt, or Frau Arndt. Her background is mostly unknown to historians, but we know that she was of English ancestry and that she wed a German man called Paul Arndt. Her cousin married G.K. Chesterton, an English author.
Chesterton wrote the preface to her book and drew the cover of Fairy Tales from the German Forests, her collection of German fairy tales. Unlike the Grimm Brothers' approach to German fairy tales, the book was released around 1913 and contains an amazing variety of original fairy stories from Germany with profound talks. Some historians and fairy tale specialists have compared this collection to the Victorian literary style.
