The Giant and The Squirrel
There lived a giant. He ate seven bowls of porridge, drank seven mugs of milk, but still remained hungry. So, he went to look for something else to chew on. He bumped into a cow. “Hello, horned cow!” said the giant. “I ate seven bowls of porridge and seven mugs of milk and I'll eat you!”
“And I’ll run away,” the cow replies.
”And I'll catch up,” - said the giant and ate the cow. He went further and met a calf.
”Hello, calf!” said the giant. -”I ate seven bowls of porridge and seven mugs of milk, and a horned cow and you, little yearling, I will eat!”
“And I’ll run away,” said the calf.
”And I'll catch up,” said the giant and ate it. He went further and met a fox.
”Hello, fox-sister!” said the giant. “I ate seven bowls of porridge and seven mugs of milk, and a horned cow, and a calf-shooter, and I’ll eat you, little sister!”
“And I’ll run away,” the fox answered.
”And I'll catch up” - said the giant and ate it. He went on and met a horse.
”Hello, horse-charger!” said the giant. “I ate seven bowls of porridge and seven mugs of milk, and a horned cow, and a calf-yearling, and a fox-sister, and I’ll eat you, stallion!”
“I’ll run away,” the horse replies.
”And I'll catch up” said the giant and ate it. He went further and saw five diggers digging a hole.
”Hello, diggers! says the giant.” I ate seven bowls of porridge and seven mugs of milk, and a horned cow, and a calf-yearling, and a fox-sister, and a horse, and I'll eat you, diggers!”
“And we will run away,” the diggers answered.
”And I'll catch up,” said the giant and ate them. He went further and saw seven girls dancing merrily.
”Hello, dancers!” the giant told them. “I ate seven bowls of porridge and drank seven mugs of milk, and a horned cow, and a calf-yearling, and a fox-sister, a horse, and five diggers and you, dancers, I will also eat!
“And we will run away,” the girls answered.
”And I'll catch up,” said the giant and ate them.
He went further and came across a squirrel jumping along the road.
”Hello, squirrel” said the giant. “I ate seven bowls of porridge and drank seven mugs of milk, I ate a horned cow, and a calf-yearling, and a fox-sister, and a horse, and five diggers, and seven dancers, and I’ll eat you, squirrel.”
“And I’ll run away,” the squirrel answered.
"I'll catch up," said the giant.
And only the squirrel - jumped onto a tall pine tree, up to the very top. The giant lifted his enormous head to see where she had gone, as soon as he looked the sun and he exploded. And out from his belly came: seven happy-dancers, five diggers, a horse, a sister fox, a young calf, a horned cow, milk and porridge, and that is what our story was all about.
